RCOE open day – a huge success!

RCOE hosted our first industry Open Day on 27 November 2020 for local businesses and tradespeople to view our facility. It was also an opportunity to meet other professionals looking to collaborate and gain an insight into each other’s capabilities.

We received an overwhelming attendance of over 250 people, which included people from all different career levels, from across multiple industries including agriculture, education, medicine and METS. This brought to the forefront our message that the RCOE is not just for the METS sector. All industries can utilise our facilities – from training, conference, and event rooms for hire, to laboratories and workshops, our venues are adaptable to support a range of projects. The purpose of RCOE is to bring people together – whether you’re a one-person start-up or a multinational company, providing a place and a platform for people to work together to solve industry problems.

The Open Day saw many displays and demos being conducted – especially in our underground simulator. Exhibitors on the day included:

It was also great to see support from the local media. Since opening our doors, the support and feedback received from all has been extremely positive. While our team have been working hard to activate the facility and raise our profile across all industry sectors, we've also received fantastic support from our stakeholders - and the community.
