Critical mineral extraction is going to remain important in moving towards a net zero future - we need to focus on meeting supply needs, while increasing efficiency and reducing impacts.

The new economy provides an opportunity to leverage Queensland's reputation as a reliable supplier of minerals by increasing the efficiency and developing the sustainability practices of the resources sector through focusing on opportunities on mine sites including -

  • Biodiversity

  • Leveraging wisdom of first nations people

  • Reduce and reusing waste

  • Adopting circular economy principles for minerals extracted

  • Resilient land use into the future

Critical minerals are essential in progressing net zero and decarbonisation goals and we need to develop the onshoring of the value chain of critical minerals through developing our capabilities in -

  • Efficient mineral extraction and processing

  • Advanced manufacturing

  • Globally exporting new equipment, technology and expertise through consulting.
